The awards for the NCB consist of (1) National ESA Awards, (2) Award of Merit, (3) C. V. Riley Award, (4) Student Awards, and the Entomology Educational Project Awards (sponsored by the Board Certified Entomologists of Mid-America). The awards committees will consist of a Chair and others who are members of the NCB of the ESA. Hopefully these members will represent research, extension, teaching, industry, and regulatory aspects of entomology.
Duties of the Chairs -- Chairs are responsible for coordinating the activities of their respective Awards Committee. Responsibilities include:
- Promoting participation in Awards activities by NCB-ESA members.
- Coordinating the development of nomination packets by setting realistic deadlines and making members aware of the specific requirements for each award.
- Insuring that complete nominations packets are presented for each award and sending nomination packets to the members of the committee for review.
- Tabulating the responses of the committee and sending the names and packets of the winners to the appropriate NCB or National ESA official.
- Notifying the Secretary-Treasurer and the President of the NCB of award winners.
